"DHTML event triggering" demonstration (sliding menu)

  • This menu is a sliding menu with submenus which slide out vertically from beneath the parent items.
  • DHTML event triggering examples - activate the corresponding entries on the applet to see the following (note: you may need to scroll down the menu for some of the entries).
    1. Mouse Enter/Exit event - used here to dynamically change an image on the main HTML page outside the applet.
    2. Differentiated commands for folder opening and closing - used here to create alert box messages specific to the action performed on the folder.
    3. Double click event.
    4. Right click event - also triggered by ALT- and CTRL- click combinations - note that not all platforms have mice with a right button.
    5. Various further standard scripting examples: form submission, field setting, window control, conditional actions.
