Miscellaneous parameters

The following additional parameters are available.

<param name=showtitles value="1">
<param name=direction value="-1">
<param name=escapepage value="non_java_menu.htm">

The showtitles parameter is used for switching on and off the titles at the top of the sub-menus. Titles are defined in the index file, and are hyperlinked to whatever page the index file specifies, just like any other menu entry. If your image map contains text on the hotspots, you will not need the titles. However if your image map consists of pictures only, the titles will be useful for explaining what the hotspot is about. The parameter has the values 0 (off) and 1 (on).

The direction parameter is used for forcing which direction the sub-menus pop-up in relation to the hotspots. By default the applet does an auto-detect for the most useful direction. You may, however, force all the sub-menus to open up in one direction only. The values are:
  • -1 (or default): auto-detect
  • 0: up
  • 1: down
  • 2: left
  • 3: right
  • The escapepage parameter, also explained in the support area, is a feature of all our applets which acts as a safety device against faulty software on your site visitor's computer and other unforeseen problems. If any major problem arises with applet operation, the page specified by this parameter (which should be a non-java page) is loaded in place of the page with the java menu. You can read more about this parameter and its results in the support area.
