| Drop-down menu: X-Bar Menubar Version History
Features added up to version 6.7 include:
- icons are now supported for top-level entries (not submenus); icons are
two-state (i.e. normal and mouse-over states) and come with parameters
for position adjustment
- when the menu is implemented as a horizontal bar, top-level menu items with
submenus attached now have down-arrows to indicate submenu availability
- "menusource" parameter changed to "menusourcetype" and
enhanced with an additional algorithm for reading external
index files
- "menuencoding" parameter added for better handling of
non-Roman character sets
- indices in DBCS and other non-Roman character sets can
now be supplied from external sources as well as parameters
- enhanced mouse-over effects include underline option for text
and easier deactivation of the mouser-over colour rectangle
- optional text shadow/emboss effect added with user-definable colours
- so far as AWT submenus technically allow, submenu launching now occurs on mouse
movement over top-level items as well as in response to a click
Features added up to version 6.5:
- New parameters: topmenulayout, topmenuspacing, topmenuborder, topmenumargin, topmenusizeX
onLoad, menusource, arrowXoffset, arrowYoffset
- Ability to read ZIP-compressed indices with about 85% compression
- Now fully compatible with MSIE for Apple Mac
- Supports multiple parameter indices
- Considerably enhanced layout options
- onLoad event triggers a user-defined javascript of your choice when the applet has loaded
- Arrows marking pop-out menus can be repositioned
