  13. Extended characters available (e.g. accented letters).
Multi-function click operations
  1. Full standard hyperlink functionality with frame-targeting, anchors, absolute and relative addressing to anywhere on the net.
  2. Multi-command functionality. Unlimited numbers of links targeted into different frames may be triggered by a single click.
  3. A single click can trigger an unlimited combination of hyperlink, audio and other functions.
  4. Clicks can trigger user-defined javascript/DHTML functions (not Mac).
  5. Remote controls: exposed methods allow various changes to be made to the applet from outside.
  6. Page-sensitive menus without applet reloading. New indices can be loaded into the applet corresponding to page changes in the other frame(s).
  7. DRILL command for runtime loading of new indices.
  8. TIMER command for timed event sequences.
  9. Path substitutions for reducing index file size.
Indices
  1. Powerful index format allowing multiple command execution and tag graphics.
  2. Standard format for all our applets allowing 100% portability of indices.
  3. Dual-loading: may be read from external files, parameters, or both.
  4. High index capacity - tested with single index files up to 100,000 entries.
  5. Unlimited index size using index hyperlinks (drills) to manage multiple part indices.
  6. Index editor facility with drag-and-drop functionality and wizards for creating efficient multiple index systems in seconds.
  7. 10 submenu levels (more can be customised on request).
  8. ZIP compression of indices can reduce indices in external files by about 85% in size.
Images
  1. Background images: tiled to fit if necessary - just like HTML backgrounds.
  2. Specify different background images for the top level and submenu systems.
  3. Use the text graphic option to substitute top level menu items with mouse-sensitive dual-state images.
  4. Tag-images: menu entries may be suffixed with small images of your choice - typically used to indicate "new", "cool", "updated" and similar notices. (Tag images only appear when the menu is left-aligned).
Performance
  1. JDK 1.1 compatible - requires version 4+ browsers.
  2. Comes with optional signed CAB file for removal of browser warning messages attached to bottom of MSIE submenus.
  3. Comes with optional signed JAR file for removal of browser warning messages attached to bottom of N6 submenus.
  4. Windows compatible.
  5. Unix/Linux compatible.
  6. Mac compatible - but with modified behaviour and lower performance, particularly on Netscape for Macintosh.
  7. Online demonstrations include examples with indices approaching 3,000 items, and yet load and perform at high speed; much larger indices should be possible with no performance loss.
  8. Can optionally be implemented without any external graphics to speed up performance and loading time; likewise indices may optionally be loaded from parameters with similar effect.
  9. Advanced safety management: JVM error detection with lifeboat page safeguards your site reputation.
Tools and Templates
  1. Applet designer application turns applet implementation into a game. Click and point to design the applet interface and contents.
  2. Site indexing application creates the indices which the menu applets visualise. Application includes numerous wizard operations and drag-and-drop editting.
  3. Around 40 preset designs are included with the downloadable trials. These can be used as templates to help you create your own menu design.
Other features
  1. Multiple cursor types: "hand" and "wait" cursors appear at appropriate times (not Mac).
