Drop-down menu: iPOP Pro-X Powerbar II
Design Notes

iPOP Pro-X Powerbar II is almost exactly the same to use as the iPOP Pro-X Powerbar I, except for the configuration of the top-level menu appearance. The main usage differences are listed below.

Configuring the top-level menu
  1. Use a graphics editor to create a GIF or JPG image exactly how you want your applet top-level menu to look. The image should have the same width and height as the applet.
  2. Create a second copy of this image and change it to show all the rollover effects. The applet will automatically select parts of the image to display when the mouse moves over hotspots.
  3. Copy your two images into the applet's directory.
  4. Change the HTML file's applet parameters called topmenuimage1 and topmenuimage2 so that they refer to the two images you made. This enables the applet to find your images. If the applet can't find them, it may throw an error 20 or 22 - in which case, check your file names and file positions.
  5. Don't forget to set the orientation parameter to 1 or 0 depending whether your menu is a sidebar or topbar. Otherwise the results may look very strange.
  6. By default the applet will chop the applet evenly into as many hotspots as your index requires. If your hotspots need different widths and heights, use the topmenuX parameters.
  7. If any of this confuses, the best thing is to examine the supplied templates and see how we did it.
