Sliding menu: iSlide Pro-X Tree Type I
Features

Red items denote Pro-X features added in v.7.

Multi-function click operations
  1. Full standard hyperlink functionality with frame-targetting, anchors, absolute and relative addressing to anywhere on the net.
  2. Multi-command functionality. Unlimited numbers of links targeted into different frames may be triggered by a single click.
  3. A single click can trigger a combination of link, audio and user-defined javascript/DHTML functions.
  4. Remote controls: exposed methods allow various changes to be made to the applet from outside
  5. Page-sensitive menus without applet reloading. New indices can be loaded into the applet simultaneously with each page change in the other frame(s).
  6. START command for triggering processes after applet loading
  7. DRILL command for runtime loading of new indices
  8. ONCLOSE and ONOPEN commands for triggering user-defined scripts when folders open or close (not Mac)
  9. TIMER command for timed event sequences
  10. Multiple DHTML event triggering - mouseOver, doubleClick, rightClick events.
  11. APPLET command allows direct triggering of events in your own applets.
Performance
  1. JDK 1.1 compatible - i.e. should run on all version 4+ browsers.
  2. Online demonstrations include examples with indices approaching 3,000 items, and yet load and perform at high speed; much larger indices should be possible with no performance loss.
  3. Can optionally be implemented without any external graphics to speed up performance and loading time; likewise indices may optionally be loaded from parameters with similar effect.
  4. Advanced safety management: JVM error detection with lifeboat page safeguards your site reputation.
  5. Interactive online error handling during development.
  6. Auto-disposal: to maintain a clean interface, unneeded folders are automatically closed either (a) whenever a new folder is opened, or (b) whenever a user-defined number of visible entries is overstepped.
Text appearance
  1. Stylesheets for menu entry formatting with 15 commands per style - commands include many colour options, font, size, style, positioning, offsets, hanging indents, etc.
  2. Stylesheets may specify up to 127 styles, allowing fast group or individual formatting of menu entries; set the styles fast using the development environment's instantly updating WYSIWYG display.
  3. Separately definable colours for active, visited and highlighted states - and each style in the stylesheet may have its own set of colours for these purposes.
  4. Line-wrapping of long menu entries. Up to 20 lines per entry.
  5. Multi-icon entries: assign up to 127 different icons or buttons to entries using the stylesheets - that's 127 for any particular implementation.
  6. State-sensitive icons: icons may have different states reflecting link history, mouse-activity, etc.
  7. Mouse-over causes a context-sensitive message display in the browser status window.
  8. Text-graphics: text may be replaced in the menu with small text-graphics allowing use of any fonts and styles you wish.
  9. Background rectangle marks mouse-over state - fitted to match line-wrapped text.
  10. Text shadows: enhanced shadow or embossed effects with crisp thin shadows or blur-edged shadows.
  11. Extended characters available (e.g. accented letters).
Indices
  1. Powerful index format allowing multiple command execution and tag graphics.
  2. Standard format for all our applets allowing 100% portability of indices.
  3. Can read ZIP compressed index files
  4. Dual-loading: may be read from external files, parameters, or both.
  5. DRILL command for runtime index switching
  6. ADD command for runtime insertion of temporary index segments
  7. INSERT command for runtime insertion of permanent index segments
  8. Up to 50 submenu levels.
Folder action
  1. Enhanced processor-speed-independent sliding action
  2. Optional animated bounce for lively look-and-feel
  3. Folders can open with just a mouse movement (no click)
  4. Folders can open on single or double click
  5. Folders can open when the +/- box is clicked
  6. Folders above a user-defined level can optionally be locked open
  7. Folders above a user-defined level can optionally be excluded from auto-close operations
Images
  1. Background images: tiled to fit if necessary - just like HTML backgrounds.
  2. Border images: also automatically tiled to fit if necessary. These wrap themselves around the menu with independently definable widths at top, bottom, left and right. Ideal for putting a drop shadow, patterned or bevelled border around your menu. A variety of sample borders (currently 28) are supplied in a resource library.
  3. Tree icons have history tracking to match the colour scheme of the text: 4 states - normal, focus, active, visited.
  4. Tag-images: menu entries may be suffixed with small images of your choice - typically used to indicate "new", "cool", "updated" and similar notices.
  5. State-sensitive text graphics and tag images: text graphics and tag images can change according to mouse-activity and link-history.
  6. Tree structure images: icons for creating the framework of a tree structure are user-definable, allowing creative and original menu designs.
  7. Scroll images: see under scrolls.
  8. Resource library with icons, scrolls, borders and other specially designed images is available with the applets.
Audio
  1. A global "move" sound may be defined - whenever the mouse moves to a new entry, the sound is played.
  2. A global "click" sound may be defined - whenever an item is clicked, the sound is played.
  3. Individual click sounds may be defined - any entry can play its own individual sound at the same time as performing any other functions (such as loading a page).
Scrolling
  1. User-definable scrollbars can be easily implemented from a resource library of 30+ designs; or create your own design with an image editor using our unique and convenient format.
  2. Scrollbars may be placed left or right.
  3. Scrollbar appearance can be optional (as needed) or fixed.
  4. If no user-defined scrollbar is entered, the applet can optionally generate internal scrolls for you; the design of these varies with menu type.
  5. Enhanced scrollbar action - scrolling continues even if mouse accidentally moves off the scrollbar while dragging the slider.
General
  1. Tool tips - optional delayed-action pop-up information boxes over individual tree entries.
  2. Hand and wait cursors - appear at appropriate times
  3. onLoad parameter can trigger your own user-defined script when the applet has completed loading (not on Mac).
  4. Define your own text message while the applet is loading.
